Unboxing: Marvel's Collector Corps - July Box

Well, I know it's been a few months since the last post, but I'm not gone forever! Just had an extremely busy summer! Time to play catch up!
[Collector Corps August 2016 box - Spider-Man]

Today I'm doing an unboxing of the Collector Corps August 2016 box. The theme was Spider-Man. Can you tell? LoL! I know I'm a bit behind, as I am missing the previous 3 months boxes, but I'm on time with this one! I received this a few days ago and I'm sharing the contents.
[The pin and patch from the August 2016 Collector Corps box.]

As always, when the box is opened the pin and patch are revealed on top. Since the theme was Spider-Man they obviously made both the pin and patch this month in honor of Spider-Man. The pin has the Spider-Man symbol and the patch has Spider-Man's face. They're both very simple, but straight to the point.
[Contents of the August 2016 Collector Corps Box]

As always, when the top of the box is lifted, the rest of the contents are revealed. The first thing I noticed- no shirt. This would be the second time that Collector Corps has not given us a shirt. The first time being in the December 2015 box (Guardians of the Galaxy) where they provided a scarf instead of a shirt.
[Marvel Amazing Spider-Man #16 - Collector Corps Variant]

The comic provided this time was issue #16 of "The Amazing Spider-Man", which I am not a collector of, but the cover is cute and features a Funko Pop! version of Spider-Man. Also to be noted- we normally receive the #1 issue of a comic in the box, however this time they sent an comic several issues into the series. I'm not bothered either way, as I don't read any of the comics they send.
[Inside the Collector Corps 2016 August Box]

Underneath the comic, are the 3 other pieces of the August box. They sent a Fabrikations of Spider-Man, a Spider-Man Funko Pop!, and a hat.
[Funko Fabrikations #32 - Spider-Man]

I have never been a fan of the Fabrikations series by Funko. I've never found one I had to have or was worth the money and the price tag is usually around $25. I will admit this is a super cute Spider-Man though! He's definitely a keeper to me and well made! This item alone is about the cost of the whole box!

[Funko Pop! #160 - Spider-Man]

The Pop! Figure they sent of Spider-Man is an exclusive to Collector Corps this month. He's cute and sits in his spider pose.
[Collector Corps Exclusive Spider-Man Hat]

The Amazing Spider-Man hat is the other exclusive of the month. I'm not a hat person and my partner who I share the boxes with is not a hat person either, so we're left with a hat that no one will use. I will say that we are both very impressed by the hat and it is well constructed! My partner actually really likes it, but I know he'll never wear it!

Overall, this box is definitely worth it! It is no longer available to buy, but if you ever go to a convention where Funko and Collector Corps are, you can purchase the box there! People always have them on eBay as well. The August box definitely was well over the $25 subscription fee and if you're a Spider-Man fan you need this!

Unboxing: Marvel Collector Corps - December Box

To all those who celebrate: Merry Christmas! I hope you're having a magical day! To those who celebrate the many other holidays around this time of year: Happy Kwanzaa, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Solstice! If you don't celebrate anything, then consider you and your bank account steps ahead of the rest of us!
[December Collector Corps box]

Christmas came early! Well, from Collector Corps, anyway. My tracking information said I would not receive my box until December 26, 2015. I was a bit bummed by that, because I thought I read that all December boxes would be delivered by Christmas. However, yesterday on Christmas Eve, my mailman gave me a package and it just so happened to be my December Collector Corps box!

As mentioned in a previous post, the theme for December is "Guardians of the Galaxy". The box features Star-Lord on it.
[inside the Guardians of the Galaxy box]

As usual, when the box is first opened the patch and pin of the month are revealed on top and the box inside is printed with artwork from comics. In this months box it has Guardians of the galaxy artwork, obviously. Also, my pin was very well stuck down to the cardboard, it was just stuck down in a very odd position.
[December Collector Corps patch]

The patch for December features Rocket Raccoon. I can't say I love this patch, because he looks pretty evil. I know he's not as adorable as Funko tends to make him, but he just looks downright evil here. The patch is exclusive to Collector Corps and cannot be bought anywhere else.
[December Collector Corps pin]

Groot is featured on the December pin. Again, he looks like a evil version of Groot. Or at least very angry. I'm not quite sure what they were going for with the patch and pin this month, because the rest of the box is filled with adorableness. The pin is also exclusive to Collector Corps and is not purchasable outside of the program.
[Guardians of Infinity Collector Corps Variant]

As normal, when the top of the inside of the box is lifted up the comic is revealed. So, now it's easy to see why I said the box is filled with adorableness! Just look at this months variant! It's Rocket Raccoon decorating Groot for the holidays and they both look too cute! This is by far my favorite variant cover so far in the Collector Corps program! It has even enticed me to read the comic!
[December Collector Corps Scarf]

The rest of the contents in the box where underneath the comic and all 3 things were FIRSTS in the Collector Corps program. First off, there was no t-shirt this month, but instead a SCARF! It's an adorable scarf! I was impressed with how well made it is too. It's very thick and durable, and something one could actually use if they wanted to. It reminds me a rugby or soccer/football scarf, it's that well made! The one side features Groot in all his glory!
[Guardians of the Galaxy Scarf]

The scarf is reversible and the other side features mini versions of the Guardians in black with the words: "Guardians of the Galaxy" in a digital-like print. Again, I'm very impressed with the scarf and it's a nice, detailed touch that it would be reversible.
[December Collector Corps Ornaments]

Another first and exclusive to the program were ornaments! I had spotted some people selling these before, but didn't realize they were from Collector Corps. Anyway, I'm glad they were for the program and I'm really happy to have received them!
[Funko Pop! Rocket Raccoon & Groot Ornaments]

Again, these ornaments are just adorableness on a string! Groot is a mini version of the holiday Funko Pop! at Hot Topic this year and Rocket Raccoon's blaster has a bow on it! Too cute! While we may not have gotten actual "Pop! Figures" this time, I am happy with these!
[December Collector Corps Mug]

Lastly, here is another exclusive and the first time the program has ever featured a MUG! I was a bit surprised by this one. In the previous boxes we have always gotten multiple figures. Whether the figure was considered a "Drobz" or a "Mystery Mini" or "Pop! Figure", it has always been a given that we received 2 figures, but this time around it was a mug. I suppose it would technically be considered 2 figures in this box, because the ornaments were a double pack.......... Anyway, the mug is in the shape of Star-Lord's face and painted as such.
[Collector Corps Star-Lord Mug]

Here's the mug out of the box. Honestly, I will never use this mug. It kind of freaks me out a bit. I'm not 100% sure why, but I guess it's just the thought of drinking out of someone's head.......? I'm not a huge Star-Lord fan either. I enjoyed Chris Pratt's portrayal of him in the movie, but that's about it.

Overall, this box was a winner! I can't decide which box I like better- this December box or the August/Secret Wars box........ It's actually a bit hard to compare this box to the previous ones, because it really does not follow the pattern we are use to. However, I'm not disappointed by the fact that this box is unique in its contents. I enjoyed the holiday touch and the different items!

Next up is Deadpool! If you're a Deadpool fan then make sure to order the box by February-15, 2016! Also, I realize I skipped a box. October's box came right before I left for Comikaze and I never had time to post it and never really made time after I came back, because of work and then the holidays. Trust me, I'll get to it eventually. Better late than never, right? Again, happy holidays to all and leave comments below!

Unboxing: Marvel Collector Corps - August Box

Okay, we've reached the end of my Collector Corps unboxings! After this post, I am all caught up. I'm not that far behind with the August box as I just received it about two weeks ago, but I know plenty of people have already unboxed and reviewed it. I'm still going to offer my thoughts. It still surprises me when big Marvel fans tell me that they have no idea about the program. Before posting this, I was talking to a friend of mine who is a die hard Marvel franchise fan and he had no idea this program existed! So, for people like him who are out there or just curious, check this post out!
[Marvel Collector Corps August Box]

So, last time in June, I received an extra box. If you read my last post the company allowed me to keep it without charge. This time I received two extra boxes and only paid for 1! Not sure why this is happening and it is most likely a glitch in their system, but it's a nice surprise.
[Marvel Collector Corps patch & pin for August]

Like June's box, August's box opened to a flat piece that contained the patch and the pin for the month. The patch features the new Captain America and the pin has the new Iron Man. The top piece of the card board box folds up to reveal the rest of the contents. As, for the pin and patch, they're my favorite so far from Collector Corps!
[Secret Wars #1 Collector Corps Variant]

When the top of the inside cardboard piece was removed it revealed the monthly variant comic. August featured the new Thor in her Pop! form and the comic was #1 of the Secret Wars series. As stated before, I do not read most Marvel comics, but I am a fan of empowered females and so I like the cover! It intrigues me to read it, so I just may! -I will add that this month's comic came bagged and boarded, unlike the two previous months when the monthly comic was loose and did not even have a bag.
[Marvel Collector Corps exclusive Thor & Spider-Man]

Underneath the comic was two exclusive Pop! bobbleheads! On the left is #97 and is the new Thor from Secret Wars. On the right is #98 Spider-Man aka Miles Morales. I really liked the fact that this time the pops were divided and well secured. (The monthly tee was actually on top of the Pop! Vinyls and I will show that later.)
[Marvel Collector Corps exclusive Pop! Vinyl #97 Thor (Secret Wars)]

Here's a close up of #97 - Thor (Secret Wars). As I said earlier, as a woman, it is great to see empowered females in any form. So, I am loving this Pop! figure. I have not taken her out of the box, but I plan to at some point. She has a hammer, but it's hidden by the art on the box. This figure is an exclusive to the Collector Corps program and not available in stores. Any company selling these most likely purchased boxes themselves.
[Marvel Collector Corps exclusive Pop! Vinyl #98 Spider-Man (Miles Morales)]

Here's a close up of the other exclusive Pop! vinyl bobble-head from the August box. This one is #98 and is Miles Morales as Spider-Man. He looks pretty cool and I have not taken him out of the box either. Not sure if I will, but he's nice to add to the collection.
[Marvel Collector Corps Secret Wars Tee]

August's tee was a black shirt with "Secret Wars" printed on top and featuring Thor, Spider-Man, Captain America, and Iron Man in their Pop! Vinyl forms. This is my favorite tee so far from the program and it kind of made me wish I had gotten the shirt in XS, but as always I ordered a XL and it was gifted to my Marvel friend. I may have to start ordering them for me though........
[packaging from the Marvel Collector Corps August Box]

Over all, I really liked August's box. I wasn't overly thrilled with June, but I liked it. Mostly, what I liked about June's box was the great improvements in service and I saw even more improvements for August; not only were the boxes shipped on time, but the packaging was greatly increased in terms of security and protection! As you can see in the picture above, they made great strides in the design of their boxes to insure that items arrived intact! I'm also always amazed at the detail they put inside the boxes! I do not know any other company who does this! Over all, for someone who is not following the comic Secret Wars series, I thought the box was cute and great for collectors! I will definitely be getting a box in October.
